On GivingTuesday, the »ΚΉΪΆΔΗς community raised a record $60,000 for student scholarships. Despite the hardships of the pandemic, supporters shattered last year’s record of $42,140.

is a global generosity movement that encourages people to transform their communities for the better. On December 1, 264 donors came together to support student scholarships. Every dollar raised goes directly to »ΚΉΪΆΔΗς students, the next generation of socially conscious leaders.

Twenty-six alumni, staff and faculty members volunteered as Giving Ambassadors to spread the word about GivingTuesday. β€œWhen I was a student, it was this very scholarship that helped me complete my degree, and it is what inspires me to give back,” said Alex Fruin (Bachelor of Musical Arts, ’19).

The day’s total also included $15,000 in matching gifts from trustee Ken Menges, chief operating officer Mablene Krueger and other generous leadership gift donors.

β€œMy parents taught me to β€˜achieve because you are capable of achieving and help others along the way,’” said Krueger. β€œThat’s why I give to »ΚΉΪΆΔΗς β€” to provide students with opportunities they may otherwise not have.”
